Applications are invited from Endorsed Midwives to join the Royal Perth Bentley Group (RPBG) as Endorsed Midwives at Bentley Health Service (BHS) in a new model of maternity care. The service provides a Midwifery Birth Centre (MBC) for women within the East Metropolitan Health Service catchment, offering continuity of care from pregnancy through to birth by the same midwife for each woman. This model of care is the first of its kind in WA Public Health.
We are establishing a pool of experienced Endorsed Midwives to join our MBC team to provide evidence-based, high-quality care as autonomous practitioners. If you have current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife with Endorsement to prescribe required medications for midwifery practice, we would like to hear from you.
MASA and Caseload The new Midwifery Annualised Salary Agreement (MASA) for Caseload Midwifery commenced 30 June 2025 and attracts a 40% annualisation loading for caseload midwives. See attached WA MASA and FAQs for details.
Pool / Recruitment Details
This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent and Fixed Term Full Time/Part Time. The pool is open for 12 months. The panel will monitor applications and assess regularly. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool and appointments may be made when similar vacancies arise within any EMHS facility. Appointments may be made from this pool until 31 December 2026. Referees may be contacted during the application process.
Lineage and Location
Our MBC is located at BHS in a local community setting with upgraded facilities. Midwives offer continuity of care through a caseload roster across antenatal, intrapartum/birthing and postnatal periods.
Eligibility and Diversity
Eligibility to Apply: Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for permanent positions in the public sector. WA Health embraces diversity and inclusion and encourages applicants from all backgrounds, including Aboriginal people and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
Other Conditions: WA Health requires criminal records screening and integrity checking. The WWC check is required for this position. WA Health policies may require referees to comment on integrity and ethical behaviour.
