Mid-Level Data Analyst – Remediation

About the role

We are looking for a mid level data analyst to work as a key member of the remediation team based in our Sydney office. You will play a vital role in investigating and identifying root causes of issues, reconciling complex datasets, and supporting regulatory reporting efforts. You'll collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Developers, and IT teams to ensure data integrity and transparency across critical remediation initiatives.

This role offers the opportunity to work on high-visibility projects that are reported toSenior Management, the Board, and global regulators, and are essential to delivering on theRegion Australia New Zealand (RANZ) strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support the remediation team by analysing data and business processes to investigate customer issues.
- Help identify and implement both short-term fixes and long-term solutions.
- Assess the impact of potential regulatory breaches and business problems.
- Create clear visualisations and summaries to explain data findings.
- Explore opportunities to automate manual tasks and processes.
- Perform data reconciliation and analysis for regulatory reporting.
- Solve complex data issues and ensure accuracy in reporting.
- Work closely with Business Analysts and stakeholders to understand and define data requirements.
- Collaborate with internal IT teams to deliver data solutions.
- Track and manage analysis tasks across multiple remediation incidents.
- Investigate data feeds to find and fix data quality or compliance issues.

What You'll Bring

- 5 years' experience in data analysis, preferably within financial services or remediation.
- Knowledge of Australian banking regulatory standards, guidelines & requirements
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex data findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A proactive mindset and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or IT background,
