About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced governance, risk, compliance and legal professional to shape the future of a leading water and energy utility provider It is a chance to lead change, protect the integrity of an organisation whilst steering it into a future defined by robust enterprise frameworks, transparency, and trust.

Reporting to the General Manager – Corporate & Governance, the Senior Manager will lead the enterprise risk, compliance, governance, legal, and company secretarial functions. You will be a pivotal member of a high-performing Senior Leadership Team—advising the Board, guiding executives, and shaping decisions that will impact for years to come.

The role provides strategic leadership to strengthen the organisation’s governance frameworks and risk culture and as the successful appointee you will:

- Elevate Board and Committee governance with precision, insight, and authority.
- Embed enterprise-wide resilience by cultivating a culture of integrity and ethical conduct.
- Shape the policy architecture and safeguard compliance in a complex, fast-moving environment.
- Orchestrate legal and risk strategies that enable confident, future-focused decisions.
- Be the trusted voice that the Executive and Board turn to when the stakes are highest.
- Oversee enterprise risk and compliance, embedding a culture of integrity, resilience, and ethical conduct, and uplifting risk awareness across the organisation.
- Lead the company secretary function for the Board and its Committees, ensuring robust governance and high-quality advice.
- Provide authoritative advice to the Executive Leadership Team and Board on emerging governance initiatives, enabling sound governance and long-term organisational success.

About You

You are a strategic governance leader who thrives where complexity meets purpose. You bring demonstrated experience in governance, risk, compliance, company secretarial and law, and an ability to lead in challenging, regulated environments. You possess the relevant technical skills, but your real strength is an ability to influence and command credibility with Boards, regulators, and executives alike.

Tertiary qualifications in law, business, risk management, or a related discipline is a mandatory requirement.
