The Law Society of New South Wales is looking for a casual Paralegal to join the Policy and Practice Department for two days per week. You must be available to work on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

About the team

The Policy and Practice Department is the main area dealing with legal policy and law reform in the Law Society. The Department supports 18 policy committees; and has responsibility for major legal policy projects.

About the role

You will be responsible for providing general legal policy support, including legal research and administrative support to the Policy Lawyers within the Department.

What you/'ll be doing

- Carrying out legal research and legal policy support work including writing on particular issues or projects.
- General administrative duties, including clerical support; filing and
records maintenance; and word processing.
- Providing support to the Department/'s staff with administration of committees including the preparation of agendas papers and meeting outcomes.
- Other administrative tasks as required.

About you

You will need to be in your penultimate year of university, studying a law degree and have solid legal research skills (including internet research) and strong administrative skills. You will be required to work with minimal supervision and be tech savvy with a familiarity of various software packages including Microsoft Office and working with PDF documents. It is expected that you will have experience working within short timeframes and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with excellent attention to detail, accuracy and communication skills.
