Paralegal

Dentons Australia has a fantastic opportunity in our Sydney office for someone looking to start or build upon their Paralegal career in our growing Recovery and Restructuring practice on a full-time permanent basis.

In this role, you will be acting on behalf of a number of Australia's major banks and non-bank lenders on secured and unsecured recovery matters. The work is fast-paced, with the responsibility of managing a portfolio of files. You will also work alongside lawyers in the team with an emphasis on compliance and quality assurance.

• File management from start to finish
• Preparing and issuing legal documents, including statutory notices and court documents
• Acting as first point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communications via a specialised online web-based portal
• Outbound and inbound calls with defaulting customers, including liaising directly with customers in relation to sensitive financial matters with the aim to come to suitable arrangements
• Working with lawyers to progress matters through courts

You will be extremely well organised and have superior drafting skills and close attention to detail. In this role, you will handle a large workload and will be required to keep your workload up to date.

You will enjoy working in a friendly team environment under supportive partners, with on-the-job training to help you along the way. You will be self-motivated and driven, with a professional outlook and phone manner and the ability to work under pressure and deal with sensitive matters.

Prior law firm experience is not a prerequisite, although applicants with secured or unsecured recoveries experience will be favourably considered. Law students should only apply if they have 2 years (or more) left on their degree.
