Overview

Principal Data Architecture and Engineering role at Domain + CoStar Group. This role sits at the heart of delivering trusted, AI-driven insights to millions of property seekers and professionals.

What success looks like

- Faster deployment of new data products and pipelines

- Enterprise-wide adoption of the canonical data model

- Measurable drop in data-quality incidents and schema drift

- Positive feedback from analytics, product and infrastructure teams on data access and reliability

Responsibilities

- Develop and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models at enterprise scale

- Design and build complex data pipelines (streaming and batch) and data transformation frameworks

- Apply strong knowledge of AI-driven data solutions and machine-learning–ready architectures

- Establish data quality, governance, and observability best practices

- Lead and contribute to data platform architecture efforts that enable AI/ML products

- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Data Science squads; mentor senior engineers and data professionals

- Engage in stakeholder management and clear communication across teams

What you’ll bring

- Proven experience (≈5+ years) in data architecture at enterprise scale

- Designing and implementing data models (conceptual, logical, physical); data modelling, complex data pipelines, streaming and batch processing

- Strong knowledge of AI-driven data solutions and machine-learning–ready architectures

- Design and rollout of data transformation frameworks

- Data quality, governance, and observability best practices

- Solid grounding in data engineering principles and cloud-based data infrastructure

- Leadership & Collaboration: multi-disciplinary squads with Product, Engineering, and Data Science; ability to mentor

- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Nice to have

- Experience with Generative AI and integrating Gen-AI tooling into data engineering workflows

- Hands-on optimisation of large-scale data infrastructure and performance tuning

- Platform leadership or infrastructure management experience

- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools for data pipelines

- Experience bringing AI-driven tooling to data engineering productivity
