Position Overview

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our high-performing engineering team. In this senior technical leadership role, you will be responsible for driving the architecture, design, and development of scalable, high-impact software solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams — including product management, design, and infrastructure — to define the technical vision and guide the execution of complex engineering initiatives that shape our platform’s future.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of complex software systems and platform components.
- Define and evolve the technical architecture to ensure scalability, reliability, performance, and security.
- Partner with product and engineering leadership to align technical strategies with business goals.
- Mentor and coach engineers across multiple teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
- Conduct technical reviews, code audits, and architectural assessments to maintain high engineering standards.
- Drive adoption of best practices in software engineering, DevOps, and continuous integration/deployment.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to solve challenging technical problems and remove delivery bottlenecks.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and tools to improve productivity and product quality.

Requirements

- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in a technical leadership or principal role.
- Deep expertise in designing and building large-scale distributed systems or cloud-native applications.
- Strong proficiency in [primary tech stack, e.g., Java, Python, Go, C#, Node.js], and familiarity with modern frameworks and tools.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), microservices, and API design.
- Excellent understanding of system design, data structures, algorithms, and performance optimisation.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and align stakeholders through strong communication and technical leadership.
- Passion for mentoring and developing engineering talent within an agile, collaborative environment.
