Are you a data leader passionate about turning information into insights and driving business performance? Looking to combine professional growth with lifestyle flexibility and a supportive, high‑performing team?

Join the Hamilton Island IT team as our Data & Analytics Lead, based in our Sydney office at St Leonards. You’ll play a pivotal role in implementing and evolving our data strategy through the delivery of impactful analytics and data solutions that support one of Australia’s most iconic resort destinations.

This is your opportunity to shape the future of data at Hamilton Island — enabling smarter decisions and helping deliver extraordinary experiences for our guests, employees, and community.

Why you’ll love working with us

- Convenient St Leonards location close to transport, cafés, and amenities

- Work from home every Friday for the perfect work‑life balance

- Be part of an exciting digital transformation across one of Australia’s leading resort operations

- Supportive and collaborative culture within a values‑led organisation

- Free on‑site gym and subsidised fitness classes

- Discounted accommodation, tours, and dining on Hamilton Island

- Career growth and professional development opportunities across the wider Hamilton Island Group

Where you’ll make an impact

Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), you’ll enable data‑driven decision‑making across the organisation by combining strategic leadership with hands‑on technical delivery. You’ll collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to deliver initiatives that provide measurable outcomes and lasting value.

Leadership & Collaboration

- Lead an external delivery partner using a hands‑on, outcomes‑focused approach

- Work alongside partners to design, build, and deploy solutions — not just oversee them

- Provide technical direction and tactical guidance to ensure delivery aligns with business priorities and architectural standards

- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement

- Mentor and coach others to uplift internal capability and manage vendor performance

- Collaborate across business units, IT, and external partners to ensure initiatives are integrated and impactful

Business Partnership & Delivery

- Partner with stakeholders across Hotels, Food & Beverage, Sales & Marketing, HR, Retail, Finance, and more

- Deliver reliable data solutions and translate findings into actionable insights

- Ensure alignment of data initiatives with business needs and operational workflows

- Manage vendor relationships to ensure delivery quality, long‑term value, and alignment with requirements

- Champion a data‑driven culture focused on transparency, ethical use, and continuous learning

- Execute and evolve the enterprise data strategy, delivering measurable business outcomes

- Drive adoption of analytics tools and self‑service capabilities across the organisation

- Improve data platform architecture, governance, performance, and security

- Establish and maintain robust data governance frameworks, policies, and standards

- Translate business needs into technical requirements, data models, and analytics outputs

- Identify opportunities for automation, integration, and insight generation

- Prepare the organisation for emerging technologies including AI and machine learning

What we’re looking for

You are a confident, strategic data leader who thrives in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment. You bring strong technical expertise, business acumen, and a passion for enabling decision‑making through data and analytics.

To be successful, you’ll need

- Minimum five years’ experience in data and analytics leadership roles

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related discipline (desirable)

- Proven success implementing and maintaining data strategies and roadmaps

- Hands‑on experience with data governance, modelling, ETL, reporting, and analytics

- Expertise with Snowflake architecture, Power BI, and SQL

- Experience managing budgets, vendors, and service delivery

- Demonstrated success leading internal and external teams to deliver secure, high‑performing solutions

- Experience in hospitality, tourism, or other customer‑centric industries (highly desirable)

- Exposure to data science, automation, and natural language processing (NLP) (desirable)

Skills and Attributes

- Strategic thinker who balances technical depth with business impact

- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities

- Collaborative, adaptive, and solution‑focused mindset

- Comfortable navigating complex business environments

- Deep understanding of systems integration, change management, and training delivery

- Passionate about innovation, continuous improvement, and delivering measurable outcomes
