Fraser Coast Tourism & Events Ltd (FCTE) is the peak tourism and events organisation for the Fraser Coast region - home to the World Heritage-listed K’gari (Fraser Island), Hervey Bay’s world-famous whale encounters, and Maryborough’s rich cultural heritage. FCTE works in close partnership with Tourism & Events Queensland, Fraser Coast Regional Council and local operators to grow visitation, attract major events, and showcase the region’s unique lifestyle and experiences. With strong foundations and exciting momentum, the organisation is well-positioned for its next phase of growth and innovation.

About the Role

Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer will drive the strategic direction and lead operational delivery for FCTE, ensuring it continues to be an influential and high-performing voice for the region’s visitor economy. This pivotal role will oversee destination marketing, event attraction, stakeholder engagement and business development - championing the Fraser Coast’s brand on state, national and international stages. The CEO will inspire a passionate team, strengthen key relationships across government and industry, and drive measurable outcomes that enhance economic growth and regional pride.

About You

You are a visionary and commercially astute leader with demonstrated experience guiding organisations through growth, transformation and partnership development. Adept at navigating complex stakeholder environments, you thrive on building relationships and turning strategy into results. You bring proven capability in tourism, events, marketing, media or regional economic development, underpinned by integrity, creativity and a passion for the places and people that make regions thrive.
