Overview

A06/1 Project Manager - Capital Works/Building Projects • Chermside based • $78.02 + super per hour • Initial 3-month contract with high likelihood of rolling contract extension • QLD Government

Join a high-performing team delivering capital works projects across Queensland. This role offers the opportunity to lead and manage building projects that support essential public services.

Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate all aspects of building project implementation activities including pre-design, design, documentation, contract administration and post construction activities and assisting in taking responsibility for the quality, cost, cash-flow, timeliness, and suitability of the building product delivered to the client.
- Manage stakeholder relationships to ensure project success and profitability.
- Mentor and support project staff, ensuring quality assurance and performance standards.
- Oversee contract administration and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Prepare reports, manage budgets, and monitor project timelines and deliverables.
- Act as Superintendent or Principal's Representative under construction contracts.

Requirements

- Proven experience in project management within the building and construction industry is essential.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Knowledge of contract systems and construction legislation.
- Current QLD Open Driver's Licence.
- General Safety Induction Card (White Card).

Highly Regarded

- Experience with Justice, Youth Justice, or Correctional projects.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., Project Management, Architecture, Engineering).
- AIPM RegPM or equivalent certification.
