Our client provides essential building and construction services across North Queensland. They are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join their dynamic team on a contract basis, with the potential for extension.
Your new role
As a key member of the project delivery team, you'll lead and coordinate building projects from concept to completion, ensuring quality outcomes across government-owned assets. Your responsibilities will include:- Managing all phases of building projects including pre-design, design, documentation, contract administration, and post-construction activities
- Coordinating internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to meet project objectives
- Leading negotiations with consultants, authorities, and contractors to deliver value-for-money solutions
- Providing expert contract coordination across traditional and non-traditional systems
- Ensuring projects meet scope, time, cost, cash-flow, and quality benchmarks
- Overseeing stakeholder engagement and communication throughout the project lifecycle
- Generating exception reports and conducting project audits to monitor performance
- Supporting senior leadership in fee determination and client billing approvals
What you'll need to succeed
You bring a strong background in project management within the building and construction sector, with a proven ability to lead complex projects and manage diverse teamsYour qualifications and experience include:
- Previous experience in project coordination, contract administration, or construction management
- High-level proficiency in MS Project and Microsoft Office Suite
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, Town Planning, or Quantity Surveying (highly desirable)
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and manage compliance requirements
- Excellent organisational and reporting capabilities
