Job Description

Acciona Agua is seeking a highly capable Procurement Engineer to support the Procurement Manager across all procurement activities within its Australian operations, with a focus on the Eyre Peninsula Desalination Project.

This is a strategic role based in Adelaide city center, operating outside of the project site. The position requires solid procurement expertise in construction and infrastructure environments.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing procurement strategies, supporting contract negotiations, and ensuring alignment with Acciona’s systems and standards. This role is instrumental in driving value, efficiency, and innovation across procurement functions, while working collaboratively with engineering and project teams.

Procurement Strategy & Planning

- Support the development and execution of national procurement strategies aligned with engineering and project delivery goals.

- Conduct market analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and supply chain efficiencies.

- Provide technical input into procurement planning and supplier selection processes.

Contract & Supplier Coordination

- Assist in the preparation, evaluation, and administration of supplier contracts.

- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure technical compliance and performance.

- Monitor supplier deliverables and elevate issues as needed.

Stakeholder Collaboration

- Work closely with engineering, project, and commercial teams to understand procurement needs and technical specifications.

- Provide procurement insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders.

Compliance & Risk Awareness

- Ensure procurement activities align with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.

- Identify potential risks in supply chain and procurement processes and support mitigation strategies.

Technical Support & Documentation

- Prepare and maintain procurement documentation, including technical evaluations and compliance records.

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes and systems.

Required Skills and Competencies

- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.

- Minimum 4 years’ experience in procurement within engineering, construction, or infrastructure sectors.

- Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract administration, and supplier engagement.

- Proficiency in tools such as SAP, Excel, and electronic document management systems.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across national teams.
