Job Description

This position works as a key component of the Facilities and Environment team in ensuring the Zoo's buildings, facilities and grounds are presented and maintained in a clean, tidy, safe and functional condition through a combination of onsite maintenance, staff and external service contractors.

Selection Criteria

- Experience in supervising staff and contractors in a facilities and grounds maintenance environment in a high visitation public attraction.

- Previous experience with the engagement and supervision of relevant specialist contractors within delegated authority.

- Ability to carry out minor carpentry, painting, paving, fencing, concreting and other general building and facility maintenance works.

- Demonstrated understanding of Occupational Safety and Health responsibilities including hazards identification, contract safety management, the safe use of equipment and materials. The successful applicant will be required to obtain a White Card.
