Objective of The Position:
To deliver consistently high-quality food that aligns with our menu, customer expectations, and food safety standards.
To maintain efficient and hygienic kitchen operations that support service delivery and customer satisfaction.
To contribute positively to the kitchen team through effective communication, teamwork, and adherence to safety and hygiene regulations.
Qualifications/experience:
Experience in food preparation and cooking for large numbers of people.
Qualifications in Hospitality or Commercial Cookery.
Hygiene for Food Handlers Certificate.
Good communication skill.
Responsible for: Maintaining efficient management and delivery of food services.
Accountable to: Manager /Owner
Job Descriptions:
Inspect and prepare raw ingredients and food items to uphold high standards of taste and freshness.
Operate and monitor cooking equipment such as ovens, grills, and deep fryers to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Cook a variety of dishes using techniques suited to the menu, including roasting, frying, boiling, and grilling.
Taste and adjust seasoning during preparation, ensuring meals are visually appealing and consistently presented.
Ensure proper storage of ingredients and prepared food in refrigerators, freezers, and other temperature-controlled environments.
Support stock control through regular checks, FIFO rotation, and reducing wastage.
Maintain a clean, hygienic kitchen environment and comply with food handling and workplace safety regulations.
Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house teams to deliver efficient and seamless service.
Help with daily food prep tasks and offer input for menu ideas or specials where required.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a commercial kitchen
Have a passion for great food and presentation
Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene, and OHS requirements.
Ability to work under pressure and within a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Good communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Remuneration:
$70,000 - $80,000 + Superannuation
