Overview

As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth financial operations of the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Processing supplier invoices, preparing payments, and maintaining vendor records.

- Raising invoices, issuing statements, and following up on outstanding debts.

- Bank, credit card, payroll, and client account reconciliations.

- Assisting with contractor timesheets, expense claims, and weekly pay runs.

- Maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end reporting, and assisting with BAS/ATO compliance.

- Responding to queries from clients and contractors regarding invoices, payments, and accounts.

- Supporting the finance team with general accounting and administrative tasks.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Previous experience in accounts payable/receivable or an assistant accounting role (labour hire or recruitment industry experience highly regarded).

- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

- Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, MYOB, or similar).

- Intermediate Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.

- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with both clients and contractors.

- A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to support the broader team.
