About the role:

As a Quality System Specialist, you will play a mission-critical role ensuring our programs meet and exceed the highest quality, safety, and regulatory standards. You'll collaborate across engineering, production, suppliers, and executive levels to deliver assurance and compliance in one of Australia's most advanced military platforms.

Your day-to-day might include:

Embedding quality from day one: reviewing proposals, contracts, regulatory & customer requirements
Crafting and maintaining policies, procedures, and metrics to uphold AS9110, ISO9001, and regulatory expectations
Driving data analysis, root cause investigations, and proactive problem-solving
Leading supplier quality reviews and providing assurance support to business decisions
Conducting hardware, software, and systems audits against standards and regulatory requirements
Collaborating across teams to uplift quality, safety, and continuous improvement culture
Supporting material review and dispositioning non-conforming parts

What you'll bring:

Essential:

- 5+ years' experience in Quality Management Systems, aviation, engineering, or related field
- Tertiary qualification in engineering, quality, or equivalent professional experience
- Strong knowledge of ISO9001, AS9110, and practical application
- Analytical problem-solver with data-driven decision-making capability
- Ability to influence, engage, and communicate with senior stakeholders
- Lead auditor qualifications or a wiliness to obtain upon commencement
- Resilient, hands-on mindset with the ability to prioritise in high-pressure environments
- Australian Citizenship (eligible for Defence security clearance)

Desirable:

Experience working with Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASR) Parts 145, 21J, and familiarity with Part 21G

Conduct and familiarity in root cause analysis technique and methods (i.e. ICAM) and trend analysis of contributing factors

Exposure to project management or leading cross-functional projects

Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
