Secondary Enrichment and Support Teacher

Location: Bedfordale
Work Type: Permanent - Full Time, Permanent - Part Time

Southern Hills Christian College is a K-12 Christian school in Bedfordale, Western Australia, and is part of the Swan Christian Education Association. Our staff are all committed Christians, and this belief is embedded both explicitly and implicitly in our curriculum and all that we do.

We are seeking a supportive and passionate Secondary Learning Support Teacher to join our team in an ongoing position commencing on the 1st January 2026. In this role, you will work with students who require intervention, or additional learning support.

The successful candidate will support diverse learners through targeted programmes, data‑driven assessment, and collaboration with teachers. Strong communication, teamwork, tech skills, and a willingness to participate in school life beyond the classroom are essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify students requiring support or enrichment through data, teacher referral, and assessment.

- Plan and deliver small‑group, individual, or in‑class support programmes.

- Support the Learning Support Coordinator.

- Maintain accurate records of support and intervention plans.

- Contribute to formal reporting processes as required.

- Undertake extra duties as required – for example, grounds duty, internal relief, parent information evenings, college functions, fellowship events, staff meetings, etc.

Selection Criteria

Essential Criteria

- Have a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and be an active member of a Christian Church.

- Accept the Association’s Statement of Faith, Foundational Statements of Belief, and Educational Objectives, and live a lifestyle consistent with these statements.

- Be a registered teacher in Western Australia and have a Working with Children Check.

- Demonstrate evidence of personal competence in subject area.

- Demonstrate understanding of assessment and evaluation of teaching and learning and show variety in evaluation procedures in both formative and summative contexts.

- Be familiar with a variety of teaching and learning strategies, work collaboratively in a team, communicate effectively, use computers in teaching, maintain quality relationships, appreciate the teacher’s role as a model, and be willing to engage in extra‑curricular activities.

- Encourage curriculum and assessment that reflects servant‑heartedness, Biblical truths with positive impacts, through sustainability for all God has created.

Desirable Criteria

- Experience, qualifications or strong interest in Learning Support, Inclusive Education, or Gifted & Talented.

- Experience within Christian schooling.

- Experience with NCCD or similar compliance processes.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

- Ability to analyse data to inform support and enrichment programmes.
