Overview
ABOUT NEARA
Imagine preventing wildfires before they start, or ensuring power grids stay resilient during extreme weather. That’s the real-world impact we create every day at Neara.
We build 3D physics-enabled digital twins of critical infrastructure networks that help utilities and infrastructure companies run scenarios, assess risks, and make smarter decisions that affect millions of lives.
We’re not just another tech company - we’re one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential Companies 2024. We're making tangible differences in communities worldwide. And we're backed by some of the world’s leading venture capital investors.
Our team is passionate, brilliant, and genuinely excited about solving problems that matter. We’ve built something special here: a culture where everyone owns our mission, innovation thrives, and great work gets recognised. And now we’re ready for our next chapter of growth.
We are looking for a seasoned Tech Lead who excels in steering teams and is backed by a robust foundation in algorithms, data structures, SOLID principles, and object-oriented programming. Our ideal candidate thrives in a dual role - contributing individually while also dedicating time to mentorship, shaping junior engineers into accomplished professionals. As a key player, you will define optimal team structures, enforce best practices and delegate workload distribution to prevent burnouts, foster inter-department collaboration, and enhance overall organisational synchronicity.
Our training is fast-paced, designed to enable you to work independently and confidently not only with the software but also with the wider company. Joining Neara means tackling real-world challenges head-on, leading your team on an upward trajectory, and immersing yourself in a work environment characterised by high-paced innovation, transparent communication, and impactful contributions.

- Develop algorithms to generate accurate models from imperfect data
- Develop data structures that can perform in real-time with user interaction on large underlying data sets
- Work with a variety of data sources, including LiDAR, aerial photography & photogrammetry
- Work on real-time collaboration & live update algorithms
- Serve as a strong delivery role model and bring clarity to ambiguous projects
- Lift the technical bar and drive high-quality engineering practices across the engineering department to ensure high-quality, correct code output
- Lead projects and mentor both junior and senior engineers in hybrid teams
Qualifications
- Algorithms and data structures
- Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript/HTML/CSS/SASS
