Our client is a government department that provides reliable building, maintenance, and construction services across North West Queensland.

Your new role

We're on the lookout for reliable, driven individuals to join our crew as Trade Assistants for a Painting Crew. This is a full-time temporary position offering a great work-life balance with a 9-day fortnight, enjoy every second Monday off. Working hours are 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Responsibilities of this role may include but are not limited to:

1. Transport paint, tools, ladders, and other equipment to and from job sites safely and efficiently.
2. Wash, sand, and scrape surfaces to ensure proper adhesion before painting begins.
3. Assist painters with mixing paint, refilling trays, and holding or positioning equipment as needed.
4. Clean brushes, rollers, and other tools; remove protective coverings and ensure the site is left tidy.
5. Monitor stock levels of paint and supplies, and report shortages to supervisors.
6. Follow all safety procedures, including wearing PPE and helping maintain a hazard-free environment.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this role, you must have:

- Ability to collaborate closely within a small, dynamic team, reporting directly to the Painting Foreperson based in Mount Isa.
- Experience in high-quality painting services for residential properties and educational facilities.
- A versatile skill set encompassing surface preparation, paint application, and finishing across all aspects of the painting trade.
- A solid understanding of Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) protocols, with a proactive attitude towards continuous learning and development.
- Willingness to travel to remote and regional locations including the Gulf, Birdsville, Richmond, and Camooweal.
- Valid QLD license.
- White Card.
