The Opportunity

As a highly motivated Cook working with our team at XXXX, you will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment to prepare and deliver high-quality meals to our residents. You'll be a great communicator, enjoy being hands-on with kitchen preparation and enjoy supporting residents' well-being. The residents are the heart of everything we do and the reason we come to work every day, their happiness is key to a successful overall operation and we are looking for someone who values this as much as we do.

This is a permanent part-time position working XXXX / This is a casual role, helping our team on an ad-hoc basis with covering leave or when we need an extra pair of hands

Your Impact

- Provide restaurant-style kitchen and dining service
- Assist in the daily kitchen preparation and serving of meals
- Ensuring daily quality meal service to residents and visitors of the surrounding Aveo Community
- Daily monitoring of food safety plans and following all Food Services procedures

What you'll bring

- Knowledge and/or experience in catering/kitchen/hospitality settings (e.g experience in food preparation)
- Food Safety Certificate OR Certificate III in Commerical Cookery (desirable)
- A friendly and warm persona with a passion for food and chatting with residents
- Current Police check (required, but we can complete for you)
- Minimum of two (2) COVID-19 Vaccinations (required)

The Opportunity

Albany Creek Retirement Village is a well-established community set on 11 hectares of beautifully maintained gardens and greenery that surrounds its villas. With an on-site restaurant and dining room, we have an opportunity for a full-time Cook to join our close-knit kitchen team, to prepare high-quality daily meals for residents. You'll be a great communicator, enjoy being hands-on with 1-2 others in the kitchen at a time and building relationships with residents. If you have experience as a Kitchenhand, Chef, Cook or a passion for food, come and join our team

This is a permanent full-time position working: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 9-5pm, Friday 12-7pm and Saturday 9-7pm. Shift times may adjust slightly.

- $28.62/hr + superannuation + relevant award entitlements including penalty rates, overtime and allowances. Earn afternoon penalties for the Friday shift and 1.5x Saturday penalty rates.

Your Impact

- Assist in the daily kitchen preparation and serving of meals (chopping, peeling, cooking and plating etc.)
- Work in a small team to deliver a gold standard of restaurant-quality meals
- Ensure food safety compliance and kitchen cleanliness by following all procedures
- Build resident satisfaction by engaging with residents, building relationships and taking feedback

What you'll bring

- Knowledge and/or experience as a Cook, Chef, Kitchenhand or similar
- Food Safety Certificate (desirable, not essential)
- A friendly and warm persona with a passion for food and chatting with residents
- Current Police check (required, but we can complete for you)
