About Rural and Remote Mental Health Service

The Rural and Remote Mental Health Service (RRMHS) provides specialised mental health care to consumers across country South Australia.

The service includes psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, and social workers working together to ensure high-quality, accessible mental health support for regional communities.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We’re seeking a motivated and experienced Consultant or Senior Consultant Psychiatrist (MD2) who can provide clinical leadership and expertise across regional mental health networks.

You will bring:

- Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia

- Demonstrated clinical excellence in psychiatric medicine

- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills

- Experience in service development, quality improvement, and multidisciplinary teamwork

- A commitment to culturally safe and consumer-focused care

HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE?

- Lead the design, planning, and delivery of innovative mental health service models

- Provide clinical consultation and support to multidisciplinary teams and regional clinicians

- Ensure services meet best practice standards and deliver optimal outcomes for consumers

- Participate in teaching, supervision, and professional development of staff and trainees

- Foster partnerships with local, regional, and metropolitan services to enhance consumer journeys

- Contribute to mental health research, evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives
