Overview
Digital Marketing Advisor – Full-Time. Total Package $111,607.71 per annum (Base $99,649.74 + Super $11,957.97). If you’re a high-performing digital marketing professional looking to take the next step in your career, read on. This is a role to support WALGA in advocating for Local Governments across Western Australia and to shape how people connect and engage across the sector. You will work with the Marketing, Communications and Events team to elevate WALGA’s online presence and deploy data-driven digital tactics and campaigns that reach the right audiences with impact.
You will adapt quickly to changing priorities, tackle urgent updates, and keep digital initiatives aligned and effective in a dynamic environment.
What a typical week looks like
(Spoiler: rarely typical). Mondays may start with a creative team brainstorm to refine a campaign concept, followed by analysing performance data and amplifying advocacy priorities across digital platforms. You will advise on best practices and smart digital strategies for website content, social channels and eDMs, ensuring everything published hits the mark. There will be troubleshooting moments such as website tweaks, CMS or CRM updates, and keeping systems humming behind the scenes. No two days are the same, with opportunities to experiment and innovate.
Who you will be working with
You will be part of WALGA’s Advocacy team within Marketing, collaborating with the Marketing, Communications and Events team and the in-house Design Lead to enhance content and ensure it resonates with online audiences. You will liaise with other WALGA portfolios to advise on digital marketing briefs, collaborate on campaigns, and support WALGA’s five-year strategic plan. You’ll join a team of forward-thinkers who value digital innovation and want your ideas to help shape how WALGA connects with Local Governments and communities.
About you
Digital marketing will be at your core. You are an individual who:
- Has GA4 expertise for advanced analytics and performance tracking.
- Is familiar with Kentico CMS and basic HTML for web content management.
- Has a strong foundation in digital marketing strategy and campaign execution.
- Is experienced in website maintenance, UX optimisation, and SEO.
- Can interpret data to drive engagement and inform decisions.
- Can provide best-practice guidance across digital channels.
- brings a fresh, innovative mindset to digital transformation.
- Is ready to enhance WALGA’s digital capability to influence, support, and provide expertise to WA Local Governments.
Whether you’re a seasoned digital professional or a rising star, we want to hear from you.
Why you’ll love working here
We offer a rare career opportunity with flexible working options, 6 weeks (30 days) of annual leave, and an extra day to celebrate your work anniversary each year. We provide a safe, inclusive culture with strong workplace benefits and opportunities for professional development. WALGA HQ is in West Leederville, with easy access to public transport, bike paths and parking. We also offer end-of-trip facilities and the Thrive wellbeing program, plus a social club with activities like a book club and trivia nights. We are a Menopause Friendly Australia employer.
