About Our Client

Reporting to the Head of Finance you'll be responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll services across a large and diverse workforce. This is a senior-level role where you'll act as the subject matter expert, interpreting complex Awards and EBAs, leading compliance initiatives, and providing trusted advice to both employees and management.

Working across weekly processing, reconciliations, and legislative requirements, this position offers variety, challenge, and the opportunity to drive process improvements that make a real impact.

Job Description

- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for a diverse, award-covered workforce

- Interpret multiple Awards and EBAs to ensure accurate employee entitlements

- Manage payroll records including novated leases and child support obligations

- Ensure compliance with payroll tax, superannuation, QLeave, and WorkCover

- Reconcile payroll accounts monthly and at EOFY

- Support and guide the payroll team on technical queries and escalations

- Partner with Finance and HR on reporting, audits, and month-end processes

- Identify and implement improvements in payroll systems, processes, and controls

The Successful Applicant

- Extensive experience in end-to-end payroll, ideally in a senior capacity

- Strong track record interpreting complex Awards/EBAs

- Good Excel and MS Office skills

- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality

- Excellent communicator with strong problem-solving skills

- Collaborative, proactive, and confident working in a fast-paced environment
