Our Sri Lankan cuisine is like no other, blending thousands of years of evolution and a tapestry of flavors from Arab Sailors, Greeks, Persians, Sinhalese, Tamil, Malays, Portuguese, Dutch, British, and more. It's a cuisine that has been enriched over centuries and will leave you wanting more.
We are looking for an experienced Chef to join our Kandy Bites team.

Role & Responsibilities
• Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
• Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures, preparing and cooking food
• Ensuring proper storage, stock rotation, and control of foodstuffs is maintained
• Cleaning and organizing the kitchen and equipment in adherence to hygiene and safety regulations
• Proven knowledge of food safety and HACCP principles
• Discussing food preparation issues with managers, dietitians, and kitchen staff
• Training and supervising apprentices, trainees, and other kitchen staff whenever required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Great team skills and customer management skills.

Experience and Skills required:
• Should have a minimum of 1+ years of experience in a similar role
• A Commercial Cookery qualification or equivalent experience is desirable
• Exceptional proven ability in kitchen management
• Ability to divide responsibilities and monitor progress
• Food safety certificate
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Up to date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes

Salary : $76000-$80000/year + Super
