The Role

Cockburn Cement is seeking a commercially minded and proactive Finance Business Partner to join our Cement division in Western Australia. Based at Kwinana, this is a key role supporting operational and commercial leaders by providing financial insights, driving performance, and delivering value-adding outcomes.

Reporting to the National Commercial Manager – Cement, you will play a pivotal role in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering, while supporting long-term strategic goals and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

- Partner with WA Cement operations and leadership teams to influence business decisions and drive performance.
- Provide commercial insights and financial analysis to support efficiency, investment, and site profitability.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes.
- Oversee month-end and year-end processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Deliver management reporting with meaningful variance analysis and commentary.
- Support commercial negotiations and identify value creation opportunities.
- Drive cost efficiency and monitor key financial metrics (e.g., cost per tonne).
- Ensure financial governance, internal controls, and compliance with policies.
- Champion continuous improvement in finance systems, reporting, and processes.

About You

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CA/CPA/MBA preferred.
- 8+ years’ experience in operational or commercial finance, ideally within manufacturing, construction, or heavy industry.
- Strong track record in financial leadership, analysis, and business partnering.
- Advanced Excel and ERP/reporting system skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge decisions.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes to tight deadlines.
