About the Role
This is an amazing opportunity to work as our first Nursing Unit Manager at our brand-new Cancer Care Manning Great Lakes centre. We are seeking a full-time, permanent Nurse Unit Manager, reporting to the Director of Nursing, to lead our nursing team and align with our mission of delivering innovative cancer care. The role offers the opportunity to drive high standards in oncology nursing, oversee resource management, and ensure best practice guidelines are applied to improve patient outcomes. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient experiences and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the nursing team, providing exemplary leadership and maintaining effective communication.
- Ensure high-quality patient care through adherence to current oncology nursing trends and evidence-based practices.
- Manage team performance, conduct annual reviews, and support professional development initiatives.
- Implement continuous improvement strategies, collaborating with doctors, radiation therapists, and other staff.
What You Will Need
- Current AHPRA registration.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in medical oncology nursing
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience within a healthcare setting, preferably in oncology.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage resources and apply relevant healthcare legislation.

Cancer Care Manning Great Lakes forms part of the Cancer Care Associates (CCA) network. We offer high-quality, compassionate services and aim to make a significant impact in the fight against cancer.
CCA is a leading oncology services provider in Australia with over 250 employees, committed to evidence-based treatment in a multidisciplinary team environment, with an extensive and exciting growth pipeline ahead with new comprehensive centres under construction at Moreton Bay, together with Radiation Oncology services to be established at the existing centres in Miranda and Wollongong. We have recently added new centres in Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Perth demonstrating our continued growth.
We will see our network further expand in 2025 to ensure Australian communities have access to affordable, integrated cancer treatment services, not only providing essential cancer care services but reducing travel time and out-of-pocket expenses for cancer care patients in need.
