About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, Investment Operations, the Investment Operations Officer is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and delivery of investment operational processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and member-first outcomes.

This role covers a wide range of responsibilities, with a strong focus on unit pricing oversight, regulatory reporting (fees & portfolio holding disclosures), and cashflow management.

You will also contribute to strategic projects, including the implementation of a new unit pricing tool, while engaging in broader process improvements and investment group initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage daily operational matters, including the creation and oversight of instructions to custodians and investment managers;
- Support the unit pricing process and ensure the robustness of oversight controls;
- Translate business strategy changes into operational model adjustments, controls, and processes;
- Contribute to investment operations projects, ensuring delivery within timeframe, budget, and quality standards;
- Oversee daily cashflows, including the instruction and monitoring of related activities;
- Support class action processes to ensure optimal financial outcomes for members;
- Manage reconciliations and reporting outputs to meet ASX, ASIC, and APRA requirements;
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, building strong relationships to improve service delivery;
- Participate in service reviews with custodians and investment managers, driving improvements in operational performance;
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems, processes, and controls to strengthen the investment operations function.

Key Requirements

- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field);
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial services, with a strong fund accounting background and hands-on exposure to unit pricing;
- Proven ability to work with high attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaison confidently across multiple levels of the business and with external providers;
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet competing deadlines, and contribute effectively to projects;
- Knowledge of superannuation industry regulations and experience managing regulatory reporting obligations highly regarded.
