OHS and Facility Support Officer (Facilities Management / Building Services)
Local Government | South-East Melbourne | 2 days per week (Thursday & Friday)
$50 per hour + super | Until June 2026
We’re seeking an enthusiastic and safety-minded OHS and Facility Support Officer to join a dedicated local government Facilities Management team in Melbourne’s south‑east. This part‑time role plays an important part in maintaining the day‑to‑day operations, presentation, and compliance of the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and dispatch materials, equipment, and goods within the Works Centre.
- Induct visitors and contractors to site, ensuring full safety compliance.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles (by forklift/loader or by hand).
- Maintain the external cleanliness, presentation, and safety of the facility.
- Conduct daily checks on assigned plant and equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Support the implementation of OHS policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
- Maintain wash bays, triple interceptors, and ensure all areas operate safely.
- Assist with hazard identification, safety audits, and documentation.
- Maintain and develop Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Positively contribute to the City Presentation team and maintain strong relationships with staff, contractors, and the community.
About You
- Experience in facilities management, building services, or depot operations within local government or a similar environment.
- Sound knowledge of OHS practices, compliance, and auditing.
- Confident operating mobile plant/equipment such as a forklift or loader (licence preferred).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a proactive, can‑do attitude.
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
