The role

Are you passionate about finance systems and love solving problems that make a real impact? South East Water is looking for a dynamic Systems Accountant to be the go-to expert for our Oracle ERP and associated financial systems. In this pivotal role, you’ll support users across the business, ensuring our finance systems run smoothly and efficiently—from general ledger and accounts payable to fixed assets and inventory.

You’ll be the first point of contact for system-related queries, and work closely with the Finance Systems Manager to deliver smart, strategic solutions that help our people get the most out of our technology. If you thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy blending finance knowledge with tech-savvy thinking, this is your chance to shape how we work.

Who are you?

The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with Finance ERP systems, particularly Oracle Fusion Cloud, and be confident using tools like PowerBI, MS Excel, and other database/reporting applications. They will bring a solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures, supported by at least 2+ years of accounting experience, and be CPA or CA qualified or actively working towards completion. A strong ability to understand business processes and translate them into system functionality is essential, along with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

Additional capabilities required include, but are not limited to;

- Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve routine technical and process-related issues using established methods.
- Skilled in recognising system risks and opportunities and escalating appropriately.
- Able to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines across multiple project tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage with stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
- Ability to seek and implement process improvements under guidance.
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative.
- IT experience, including coding, SQL, or service desk exposure, is highly regarded but not essential.

What's in it for you?

Working at South East Water means you can enjoy a wealth of benefits, starting with the chance to be part of an organisation deeply committed to environmental initiatives and sustainability; one who has been recognised as one of the top 101 Workplaces for Women in Australia by Work180 for the past two consecutive years.

South East Water cultivates a dynamic culture that emphasises collaboration and strong work ethics, supported by career-focused learning and development opportunities.

As a SEW employee, you can enjoy the following offerings from our benefits package:

- Access to My Fitness Passport, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), annual flu shots, and health checks.
- Work-life balance with flexible working arrangements, including hybrid work options and leave purchasing.
- Life insurance and salary continuance.
- 15 weeks paid parental leave and paid superannuation on eligible portions of unpaid parental leave.
- Additional leave offerings, such as cultural and ceremonial leave and study leave.
- Head office with modern facilities and panoramic beachfront views, a separate parents' room, a prayer and meditation room, an onsite cafe, and free parking.
- Opportunity to be part of great initiatives involving the local community

This role is remunerated at a Level 3, which is between $94,442 and $102,985 + super and offers are commensurate with the successful candidates' experience.
