Join us as a Youth Worker and Make a Real Difference

Be the Change for Youth in Need

Are you ready to embark on a rewarding career where you can make a difference? We're looking for passionate Youth Workers to join our dedicated team in Queanbeyan

Welcome to Anglicare (NSW South, West & ACT)

As a leading non-profit organisation, we aim to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty for children, young people, and families. We invest in our people by building fulfilling careers, offering continuous training and development, and fostering a values-driven culture where everyone can thrive.

What's Involved?

As a Youth Worker in our Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC) team, you'll support young people with medium to high needs. You will supervise, support, and provide trauma-informed care in our ITC settings. You'll ensure their safety, well-being, and development by building caring relationships and promoting self-esteem, health, and life skills. From transporting young people to school and appointments to completing shift reports and mandatory incident reports, your role will be diverse and impactful.

What's Needed?

1. Cert IV in Youth Work or successful completion of first-year degree studies in a relevant tertiary qualification. A Diploma in Community Services is highly desirable.
2. At least 3 years of practical experience working with children/young people in a community service setting.
3. Strong teamwork, self-regulation in stressful situations, mentoring abilities, and excellent communication skills.
4. A valid driver's licence.
5. A current Working With Children clearance through the Office of the Children's Guardian (NSW).

Why Join Us?

1. Competitive pay from $36 to $38.60 per hour, plus casual loading and 11% superannuation.
2. Generous salary packaging under Anglicare's PBI status.
3. Comprehensive training and development opportunities, including the Sanctuary Model and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.

How to apply:

Submit your application through our website.

For all enquiries, please contact Taizya Phiri on 0492 801 580 or Muniatu Kanneh on 0490 906 052 (during business hours).

Applicants will be required to undergo a psychometric profiling instrument and a National Criminal History Check, which we will conduct before an offer of employment.
