About Us
headspace provides support to young people aged 12-25 experiencing mild to moderate or emerging mental health issues. The multidisciplinary team at headspace Liverpool work to improve health, social, vocational and educational outcomes for young people.

Grand Pacific Health is the lead agency of headspace Liverpool. We are a not-for-profit, primary health care organisation providing locally-tailored, high quality physical and mental health services across NSW and the ACT.

About The Position
The Holistic Youth Program (HYP) is a service stream of headspace and provides youth friendly, strengths-focused support to young people with, or at risk of developing, a serious mental illness that can significantly impacting their day-to-day work, education, social and/or personal life. In conjunction with the headspace team, HYP is designed to provide flexible, medium-term care (typically up to 12 months) at no cost. The program focuses on young people who would benefit from a multidisciplinary or team-based approach with the goal of preventing the individual from having to access specialist mental health services and reducing long-term mental ill-health.

As Peer Worker, You Will Work Within The Headspace Team To Provide Open, Appropriate And Effective Support To Young People Accessing The HYP Program. Your Own Life Experience Of Mental Health And Personal Recovery Will Provide a Distinct Advantage As You Support Young People With a Lived Experience Of Mental Health Issues And Aim To Nurture Hope And Personal Power To Inspire The Young People That You Support To Move Forward With Their Lives. You Will Also Be

This opportunity is a part-time (30 hours per week) position to 30 June 2026.

We Are Looking For Someone With

  • Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or commencement or a willingness to work towards qualification within first 6 months of employment).
  • Direct lived experience of life changing mental health challenges, mental health service use, as well as significant periods of healing and personal recovery.
  • Commitment to safely and purposely share lived experience to engender hope and support others on their personal recovery journey.
  • Thorough understanding of the importance of personal and professional boundaries, ethical behaviour, policies, and procedures
