About the Role
We’re seeking an IT Service Desk Support professional to help keep the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) and our event partners at Sydney Showground connected, productive, and secure.
Provide frontline support, maintain core network and endpoint services, and play a hands-on role in Microsoft 365/Office 365 collaboration tools, supporting event-time connectivity for internal users and clients. Reporting to the IT Support Engineer, you’ll balance day-to-day tickets with proactive improvements and small projects that lift reliability and user experience across the organisation.
You’ll also support event IT services at Sydney Showground (wired/wireless internet provisioning, scheduling and closing out work orders in Momentus Enterprise) and provide after-hours assistance during peak periods (e.g., the Sydney Royal Easter Show).
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain the service desk (incidents, requests) to meet business availability requirements.
- Support Microsoft 365/Office 365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, workflows) and Windows desktop/server environments.
- Maintain network and endpoint standards: basic switching/wireless concepts, router configuration, software deployment, asset rollouts, and performance.
- Administer Intune/Azure/Conditional Access; assist with device and identity management.
- Provide remote support to off-site users (e.g., TeamViewer); document fixes and knowledge articles.
- Assist with IT projects and technology rollouts; track tasks and progress using workflow tools (e.g., Jira).
- Event IT (Sydney Showground): Use Momentus to schedule service delivery and notifications; create event internet accounts (wired/wireless); install required network equipment; complete work orders at close; provide on-call support during live events.
Roster & flexibility: Core hours are 8:30am–5:00pm with flexibility; some evening/weekend work in the lead‑up to, during, and after the Sydney Royal Easter Show and other significant events.
About You
- High energy, service mindset, and calm under pressure; strong written and verbal communication for non-technical audiences.
- Learns new technologies quickly; methodical problem‑solver who identifies root causes and follows through.
- Builds effective relationships across teams, contractors, partners, and clients; takes ownership and accountability.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- 2+ years’ experience in IT support/service desk.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365/Office 365 administration, Windows desktop/server, basic network concepts (switches, WAPs), and router configuration.
- Experience deploying/managing Intune/Azure/Conditional Access/SharePoint/Teams and using Jira or similar workflow tools.
Desirable
- Microsoft 365 / Office 365 certification; CCNA beneficial.
- Exposure to asset rollouts, software packaging, and event-venue connectivity.
