About the role As a Senior Medical Practitioner in GeneralMedicine at Kalgoorlie Health Campus, you will play a central rolein delivering high-quality care to patients across the Goldfieldsregion. Working as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, youwill provide comprehensive assessment and management of inpatients,outpatients, and emergency presentations under the guidance ofConsultant Physicians. With a population of 52,348, the Goldfieldsregion faces distinctive healthcare challenges, with 13% of thepopulation identifying as Aboriginal. Many patients, often from lowsocio-economic backgrounds, present with complex chronic conditionsand cancer diagnoses. In this role, your ability to provideculturally sensitive, patient centred care will be crucial insupporting better health outcomes for this diversecommunity. The position also offers the opportunity tobroaden your scope of practice through outreach to other sites suchas Esperance Hospital, including the use of Telehealth to supportcolleagues and patients in more remote locations. You willcontribute to the education, training, and supervision of juniordoctors, helping to build local medical workforce capacity andstrengthen the standard of care across the region. Preferencewill therefore be given to applicants currently residing inAustralia who: - hold unrestrictedGeneral Registration with the Medical Board ofAustralia, and - have at least twoyears of clinical experience in Australia or arecognised Competent Authority country. - Exceptional overseascandidates may be considered on a case-by-casebasis. - Australian citizenship orpermanent residency is an essential requirement for applicantsto be considered for permanent positions inthe public sector. Applicants on a visa can be appointed on afixed-term contract.
