About the role

Ventia is seeking a qualified Hospitality & Catering Manager to lead and manage hospitality and catering operations within the Albury Wodonga Military Area, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services that support the wellbeing and operational readiness of Defence personnel. The role is responsible for maintaining safety standards, coordinating staff, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations under Ventia’s Defence Base Services contract.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

Operational Excellence

- Management of the safe delivery of food & overseeing Front of House services, managing our Mess Concierges and Food and Beverage Attendants.
- Conduct of Food Safety Compliance activities including Food Safety Audits and oversight of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) protocols, processes, and reporting
- Financial Management relating to product deliverables not limited to food costs, client quotations, supplier and customer accounts
- Preventive management of food safety hazards
- Review customer and client comments / feedback on a daily basis, ensuring concerns are investigated
- Actively participate in the recruitment process and identify suitable candidates to join the team
- Manage employee performance
- Prepare and deliver reports and statistics as required

Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ)

- Input any workplace health and safety incidents into Vensafe as soon as possible.

Digital and Data

- Conduct monthly bar stock takes to understand future ordering requirements but analysing data in the POS.
- Report Meal Pass/IMPOS (Cash and EFTPOS) sales daily into spreadsheet.
- Report faulty equipment for immediate and urgent repairs via phone to BSSC.
- Implement and manage systems to drive efficiency and performance.

About You

- Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate.
- Food Safety for Supervisors Certificate (Advantageous)
- 2+ Years experience supervising food and beverage attendants.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety standards, legislation, regulatory compliance, and HACCP principles.
- You are a safety-focused leader who drives accountability and continuous improvement. You coach and empower teams to deliver operational excellence, embedding safety as a core value in every aspect of work. - Hold a current Australian Driver's License & own transport to drive across sites.
- You take pride in delivering high-quality work safely and reliably. You follow established procedures, actively look out for your teammates, and understand that safety is a shared responsibility. You contribute to a culture where safety incidents, near misses, and hazards are reported promptly and constructively.
- Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen and be willing to undertake and maintain a satisfactory Australian Federal Police.
