About the Role

The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is seeking an Infringement Appeals Officer to join the Transperth Train Operations Division on a permanent, full-time basis. In this role you will be responsible for managing customer enquiries and processing infringement notices, ensuring the accurate and fair handling of appeals and related matters. Reporting to the Coordinator Transit Support, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the infringement system while delivering a high standard of customer service and administrative support.

Key responsibilities

- Reviewing and adjudicating customer appeal letters and drafting responses in line with relevant legislation.

- Processing infringement notices and assisting in the management and maintenance of the infringement notice database.

- Providing timely and professional responses to customer enquiries relating to infringement matters.

- Processing written and electronic correspondence relating to infringement notices.

- Assisting internal and external stakeholders through research, reporting, and inter‑agency coordination.

About You

To excel in this role, you should possess:

- Sound understanding of Transperth’s ticketing and fare systems, as well as relevant Public Transport Authority (PTA) Acts and regulations.

- Good communication skills, with a customer and solution‑oriented approach and the ability to engage effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

- Good analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to escalated when needed.

- Proficiency in computer applications, with demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office programs.

- Effective planning and organisational skills, with the ability to plan ahead to manage tasks and meet deadlines.

There is one permanent full‑time opportunity available for an immediate start. This is a pool recruitment process where suitable applicants will be placed in a pool for 12 months to fill vacancies that may arise.

To be eligible to work permanently at the PTA you must be either an Australian Citizen, have Permanent Residency status or hold a current visa with permanent working rights in Australia.
