Opportunity fo an experienced Accountant to work with a government-owned organisation in Darwin. The organisation is highly reputable and offers excellent pay.

- $79 - $95 p/h + Super (inclusive of casual loading)

- Full Time contract until June 2026 with possibility to extend

This role would suit an accountant who has a diverse background across different types of accounting and can adapt to a general accounting role as you will be a key member of the team in providing financial services and advice.

Key Responsibilities:

- Analyse, interpret, and report on financial results, forecasts, and budgets

- Prepare month-end accrual journals and management reports

- Manage payroll tax, BAS, FBT, and taxable payment reporting

- Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and legislation

Ideal skills:

- Strong experience in taxation, compliance, and financial reporting

- Knowledge of complex accounting concepts and financial analysis

- Experience preparing budgets and analysing financial reports

- Advance Excel skills

- CPA or CAANZ membership (or in process)

- Experience in an infrastructure-heavy organisation or big 4

Desirable/nice to haves:

- Exposure to NT Government or capital projects (large assets)

- Knowledge of activity-based costing across multiple business units

- Experience with Pronto and Cognos reporting
