About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Performance Manager to join our Maritime Sustainment Delivery team based at Garden Island, NSW.
Reporting to the Operational Delivery Manager, this role will be responsible for effectively engaging both customer and industry stakeholders and leading the integrated planning team to achieve the required customer and company outcomes for complicated to complex projects and strategic campaigns through the application of Project Management (PM) disciplines in accordance with the BAE Systems Australia PM framework.
In the conduct of assigned duties, the successful incumbent must maintain trust and confidence of the customer, industry partners, BAE Systems Australia management and provide effective leadership and mentoring to the integrated planning team. The role will encompass a broad scope of work including cross-functional responsibility, with a tactical focus on program delivery.

Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivery of concurrent simple and complex projects
- Provide leadership, guidance and support to cost account managers and junior project managers
- Foster a positive and collaborative culture between the key project stakeholders and the project team including the customer, industry partners, sub-contractors and suppliers
- Build and maintain a trusted relationship with the customer by being a focal point for all customer contact relating to program performance
- Lead the integrated planning team to ensure timely activity, integration and efficient use of time and resources to meet requirements
- Ensure all program requirements and/ or objectives are properly documented in a business case and/or project brief, as appropriate and vigorously pursued
- Establish appropriate key success indicators and recommend trade-offs between scope, quality, time and cost
- Ensure that products and services delivered as part of a program are in accordance with the Product Safety policy and provide customer satisfaction
- Identify project opportunities and risks and develop mitigation strategies for pursuit throughout contract phases. Monitor and report on the status of risks and opportunities
- Provide direction to, and motivate, the integrated planning and wider program team
- Identify and address training and development needs for the project team
- Complete all closure and wrap-up activities upon project completions including lessons learnt workshops
- Deliver mentoring to developing project managers
About YOU
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering or Commercial (desirable)
- Previous experience in a Senior level role of similar responsibility
- Strong knowledge of project management principles and practices
- Experience in managing the quality of program outputs to ensure strategic objectives are met
- Experience in conducting program level meetings and reviews
- Proven influencer and communicator with stakeholders at all levels, with experience in influencing senior leadership and senior customer representatives
- Current NV1 Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
