Vocational Education Teacher (Information Technology Programs)

Nortwest College Position Description

Nortwest College is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Vocational Education Teacher – Information Technology to join our Melbourne CBD campus. The successful applicant will deliver accredited IT programs, mentor students, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our IT courses, ensuring compliance with ASQA and CRICOS standards.

This role is ideal for an IT professional with both real-world industry experience and teaching experience in the VET sector.

Location of the Position

Melbourne CBD Campus, Victoria, Australia.

Benefits

Salary / Salary Components: Annual Salary: AUD 75,000 – 85,000 plus superannuation. Superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee (currently 11.5%). Additional benefits: professional development allowance, staff training, and employee assistance program.

Task & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver and assess accredited IT qualifications (Certificate IV, Diploma, and Advanced Diploma of Information Technology).
- Design, review, and validate IT training and assessment materials.
- Provide academic mentoring and constructive feedback to international students.
- Support compliance with CRICOS/ASQA through accurate records and reporting.
- Participate in validation, moderation, and quality assurance activities.
- Promote Nortwest College’s culture of high-quality education and multicultural engagement.

Qualification & Experience

Skills & Experience Required

- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent).
- A relevant tertiary degree in Information Technology (Bachelor’s or higher).
- Extensive recent industry experience in IT (e.g., networking, programming, software engineering, cybersecurity, systems analysis, or related fields).
- Proven experience as a teacher/trainer in the Australian VET sector.
- Strong knowledge of ASQA and CRICOS regulatory requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.
- High digital literacy and experience with online learning platforms.
