Are you a passionate educator looking for a rewarding teaching experience? Leonora District High School (DHS) invites applications for a dedicated English - Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) Teacher to join our team, teaching both primary and high school students. #

Located in the Goldfields-Esperance region, north of Kalgoorlie, Leonora DHS caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Leonora DHS has a long history of supporting the local community by embracing the Cultural diversity, that is Leonora. With 112 student enrolments, 79% being of Aboriginal heritage, the school embeds the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework throughout the curriculum.

The successful applicant will ideallypossess the professional knowledge, practices and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant English and HASS curriculum. In this role, you will promote and foster student engagement and achievement through building productive working relationships with students.

We are seeking a Teacher who is ideally creative and hands-on in delivering English and HASS. You should ideally be someone who works well in a collaborative team environment, values strong relationships with students, parents, and the community.

The successful applicantshould possess the ability to work in multi-age group classes requiring differentiation and have a sound awareness of how to embed the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework into daily practice. You will engage in professional learning, work professionally with colleagues, and ideally have good communication and interpersonal skills, working as a member of a vibrant and enthusiastic school team.

Additionally, as the successful applicant, you will ideally provide excellence in creating and maintaining supportive and safe learning environment and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential.

Teachers and School Administrators employed atLeonora District High Schoolin 2025 are eligible to receive a temporaryAttraction and Retention Incentive of$8 500(pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.

The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south westteachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South WestEducation Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.

*Note that south westteachers are not eligible to move to another south west school under this trial.
