About the Role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Manager with a background in manufacturing. The purpose of this position is to lead the Site, ensuring products are manufactured, stored, and distributed to the highest commercial quality / efficiency whilst, meeting corporate and statutory requirements.

The Site Manager is accountable for the safety and secure operation of the site, driving a strong values and continuous improvement culture. They will be tasked with balancing the Quality, Service and Cost dynamics of the site for best ongoing stability and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

- Compliance to Corporate and Statutory requirements
- Promote and support safety initiatives, including safety walks, talks, internal audits, training.
- Maintain a safe workplace via early hazard identification and management.
- Eliminate/reduce the incidence of workplace injuries (
- Meet Business safety Objectives (KPI)
- Protection of workers, visitors, assets & Environment.
- Compliance to Customer, Corporate and Statutory requirements
- Collaborate with centralized functions for best practice production.
- Meet and exceed Audit targets and requirements.
- Promote and support quality initiatives.
- Monitor and improve site quality performance.
- Actively manage product quality issues on site.
- Delivery of the production plan
- Best Practice ATS and MPS connected to DIFOT to customers
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Optimise Staffing and people management.
- Manage the receipt and storage of raw materials.
- Manage the storage and dispatch of finished products
- Maximise Production, Bulk, packing and logistics efficiency's
- Measure and improve operational performance.
- Prepare the site budget and monitor performance to budget during the year.
- Exceed operational and financial targets.
- Where areas are un-favourable to budget initiate actions to improve performance
- Prepare and deliver the site Capital Budget with National Engineering
- Assist with the preparation of product costing
- Measure and report site performance
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement in all areas on site
- Improve processes efficiency's across the site
- Reduce waste
- Manage a diverse workforce of permanent and casual workers
- Actively engage with direct and indirect reports on site.
- Manage site recruitment, training, and general Human Resources / Industrial Relations matters in consultation with the Corporate Human Resources Department.
- Identify and ensure the provision of required training.
- Disclosure of Human Resources / Industrial Relations issues to the Human Resources Department.
- Improved employee engagement results via a targeted engagement plan

What We're Looking For:

- Tertiary qualification (preferred)- Engineering, Science- Food technology / Quality.
- Trade certification - Milling or Agriculturally based (desirable but not essential)
- Minimum 10-15 years' experience in FMCG / Milling / Industrial manufacturing
- Minimum 5 years' experience in site or operations leadership of a medium to large scale complex production environment
- Excellent manufacturing and process flow understanding
- A proven team leader and player
- Budget Management and capital project delivery
- Good reasoning ability and problem-solving skills
- Superior motivational skills - being pro-active.

Reporting Structure:

- The Site Manager will report to the General Manager of Milling and Mixing
- The role will 3-5 direct reports
- The role will have 40-50 indirect reports
- Business turnover of $6-$12million
