Senior Analyst - Strategic Initiatives, Data
APRA is seeking a Senior Analyst, Strategic Initiatives, Data to join the team responsible for managing strategic data initiatives across APRA as well as the measurement and monitoring of data initiatives and risks.
The role will work closely with stakeholders across APRA and other agencies to manage data initiatives, data risk and data governance initiatives across APRA.
The team
The Strategic Initiatives, Data team is a centralised team of data partners within the Chief of Data Office. Our core capabilities are working with stakeholders internally and externally to enable data initiatives and guiding stakeholders though the initiation, planning, and execution of APRA's data initiatives in accordance with APRA data frameworks.
The position will play a key role in role in managing strategic data initiatives for APRA. The role will report directly into the Manager, Strategic Initiatives, Data and will be responsible for working closely with data partners, business stakeholders and project teams to ensure that APRA's strategic data initiatives are managed and monitored appropriately.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage strategic data initiatives in line with APRA's data frameworks
- Measurement and monitoring of data initiatives and risks, including reporting to internal governance committees and business partners
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders across internally to ensure data governance frameworks are adopted within APRA
- Enable easy to find and use data: products, services and tools, supporting all parts of the framework to effectively leverage data
- Build strong and deep relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership and business partners
About You
- Experience working on data initiatives or projects within the finance sector
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship skills
- Excellent communication, report writing and presentation skills
- Experience in documenting and assessing data risks and controls, data issue management and / or data quality management
Able to develop and document business process improvements (templates and process guides) through the development of the business requirements process
- Strong analytical, investigative and research skills, including analysis and presentation
- Experience with IT project life cycle - analysis, design, build, test and implementation. Iterative, Agile and Waterfall experience beneficial.
