Newcastle, Australia Warrigal Full time

The opportunity

In this role, you’ll provide compassionate, person-centred care to older individuals, supporting them to live with dignity and independence in the comfort of their own homes. Your day to day responsibilities may include assisting with mobility, personal hygiene, meals, shopping and other daily activities, all in alignment with their personalised care plans.

You’ll also support clients with domestic tasks such as gardening, helping them maintain a pleasant and comfortable living environment. Beyond physical support, you’ll foster a sense of belonging by encouraging participation in community-based social and recreational activities.

With our commitment to high standards in both clinical and compassionate care, you’ll have the opportunity to innovate, grow, and take pride in the meaningful work you do.

The benefits

- Hourly rate: $32.75 + Superannuation + NFP Salary packaging – pay up to $18,550 less tax per year, meaning more money for you
- Paid travel between client visits, mileage allowance, plus penalties
- Opportunity pathways for professional growth and career development
- A fantastic onboarding program to set you up for success, ongoing support and mentoring from clinical educators
- Subsidised access to your local gym and 200+ more across the country with a Fitness Passport

- Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support
- Administer and Monitor Medications Certificate HLTHP007 (highly desirable)
- Good interpersonal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised
- Availability to attend our 3 day onboarding program
- Current First Aid certificate or enrolled to obtain
- Current Drivers License, a reliable car with comprehensive car insurance

What our carers love about working here

Unexpected opportunities to grow: You’ll find ongoing training and support that allows you bigger responsibilities, more senior roles and potential pay increases. Our preference is to promote from within, so there are opportunities to specialise, become an RN, or move into a non-clinical management role. We offer carer roles across our home, residential and lifestyle services, giving you variety beyond the expected.

Better life balance: We respect your life outside of your job, and work with you to design schedules that help you plan your study, family, and personal commitments around better, steadier rosters.

One team, united in our purpose: We support older people to have great lives. We put older people first in everything we do. On an everyday level, we help them age with dignity, independence, happiness, and connectedness. On a big-picture level, we’re challenging ageist thinking in Australia. This is the Warrigal Way.
