About Vysus Group

Vysus Group is a leading engineering and technical consultancy, providing specialised expertise in asset performance, risk management, and project management across complex industrial assets, including energy assets such as oil & gas, nuclear, and renewable energy. As the world shifts toward sustainable energy, we’re at the forefront of supporting this transition.

Position Overview

We are seeking Principal Power Systems Engineers to join our market-leading Power & Energy Systems team. Based in Melbourne, with flexibility for other locations in Australia, you will be integral to the delivery of cutting-edge power systems projects that support the renewable and traditional energy sector. Our team has an unparalleled track record in power systems studies and grid connections, with extensive experience in the National Energy Market (NEM) and a long-standing focus on the connection of renewable generation since 2002.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

1. Conduct and deliver high-quality power system studies for renewable energy, traditional energy, and industrial power systems projects across the region, collaborating closely with developers, investors, NSPs, and AEMO.

2. Develop solutions for complex power systems and network connection issues, approaching challenges with detailed, problem-solving acumen.

3. Bring technical expertise to drive successful project delivery.

4. Oversee project management tasks, ensuring that all projects meet internal and external standards, industry regulations, and are completed on schedule and within budget.

5. Identify potential extensions and growth opportunities for ongoing and future projects.

6. Build and strengthen relationships, both internally and with clients, expanding our business network and identifying new business opportunities.

What You Bring

To thrive in this role, you will have:

1. A bachelor’s or higher degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent).

2. Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple tasks and deliver to tight timelines.

3. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an organised and adaptable approach.

4. Proficiency in data management, reporting, and an aptitude for power systems modelling tools (e.g., PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSCAD), ideally with a background in utility power systems planning or operations.

5. Experience managing technical quality, timelines, and budget for large-scale projects. Stakeholder management experience, with a track record of successful negotiations to ensure project success.

6. Publication experience in Electrical Engineering journals or conferences is a plus.

Why Join Vysus Group?

1. Global Collaboration: Work within a multi-disciplinary team with a global footprint.

2. Growth Opportunities: Contribute to and shape the development of innovative projects and emerging business areas.

3. Competitive Package: We offer a competitive salary and benefits.
