About the opportunity

A highly respected professional services firm in Greater Newcastle is seeking a strategic and hands-on General Manager to drive business performance across operations, finance, people, and growth. This newly created position reports to four Company Directors and plays a pivotal role in driving performance across strategy, finance, HR, marketing, compliance, and day-to-day operations.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a broad leadership role with scope to influence, modernise systems, lead high-performing teams, and contribute to the long-term success of one of the region’s most respected firms.

The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic execution, financial oversight with a key focus on people leadership, and continuous improvement of business operations. Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and commercial acumen are essential.

You’ll be joining a warm, inclusive team culture with deep roots in the Newcastle community. This role is suited to someone with experience in professional services environments who is looking for a long-term, impactful career step.

What We’re Looking For:

- Senior leadership experience in operations, finance, or general management

- Professional services background strongly preferred

- Proven track record in driving strategy, mentoring teams, and overseeing complex business functions

- Strong financial and commercial acumen

- Hands-on, solutions-oriented, and confident in leading change

- Exceptional interpersonal, time management, and organisational skills
