This is an exciting and broad reaching role with high visibility, which will suit someone with a technical or engineering background who wants to move deeper into Project Management.

This opportunity has the potential to springboard the career of the right candidate by providing rare exposure to the customer, end to end program, a wide variety of stakeholders and project issues.

This Project Management role will be working directly with our customer, the Commonwealth of Australia (CoA) to manage critical dependencies across the Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP) in accordance with the Program’s schedule and quality requirements.

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.

Key responsibilities include:

- Delivery: responsible for managing & driving the on-time delivery of critical Program dependencies including information, data, equipment, facilities and services.

- Issues Management: responsible for identifying and resolving issues. Drives integration across the Program to ensure critical issues are understood, prioritised and resolved.

- Stakeholder Management: extensive stakeholder management & communication ranging from technical/engineering to executive management.

- Commercial Management: responsible for managing commercials/contracts driving effective outcomes, which balance relationships, risk and accountabilities.

- Governance: responsible for driving effective governance outcomes with a data driven metrics approach which communicates status and issues effectively all the way up to an executive audience.

About You

- Background in a technical or Engineering discipline with a desire to move further into Project Management.

- A solid understanding of project management principles will be highly regarded.

- Strong understanding of, or experience with commercial/contracts management

- Outstanding stakeholder & communication management skills.

- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and executive stakeholders.

- Proactive driver who has a strong track record of taking independent responsibility for identifying issues and resolve issues.

- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain NV1 Clearance
