Salary: $77,000 per year

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and prepare a wide variety of Italian dishes, including antipasti, pasta, risotto, meats, and pizzas
- Monitor food preparation and presentation to ensure consistency and high standards
- Supervise and coordinate the work of kitchen staff and provide training as required
- Ensure all dishes are prepared in accordance with food safety, hygiene, and quality control standards
- Estimate food and labour costs, and assist in ordering supplies and stock control
- Collaborate with management on menu planning, specials, and seasonal updates
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in accordance with health regulations
- Monitor portion sizes and waste to maintain profitability
- Ensure the efficient operation of kitchen equipment and liaise with maintenance when required
- Comply with workplace health and safety regulations at all times

Qualifications & Experience

- Trade qualifications as Chef. Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or above
- Minimum 2 year of experience in an Italian restaurant setting
- Good knowledge of Italian Cuisine and spices is required
- High level of discipline and ability to follow detailed instructions
- Professional and enthusiastic attitude
- Excellent personal hygiene and presentation
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
