Mater Private Hospital Townsville is inviting expressions of interest from experienced Registered Nurses who are ready to take the next step in their career by transitioning into a Clinical Nurse role within our PAU department. This opportunity is offered as Permanent, Full Time working 38 hours a week at our Pimlico campus.
About the role: Our Perioperative Clinical Nurses provide additional leadership and advanced clinical competency to our Nursing Team. You will use your extensive experience to provide a mentorship and guiding aspect to assist in the professional growth of less-experienced nursing team members, supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in activities designed to aid the sustainability of the Clinical Stream and assist with skill development.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrating advanced clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and management of patients to achieve optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care
- Supporting other staff in the unit to ensure provision of exceptional care to patients in line with best practice, Mater mission and values and policy and procedure
- Assist/Supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
- Assist/support Nurse Unit Manager with facilitation of quality improvements and patient safety initiatives to improve effectiveness and efficiency of service and patient care outcomes
- Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth
About you
The successful applicant will have the following:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience within the PAU environment
- Current AHPRA nursing registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with avariety of different stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels
