The Opportunity
As an Events Officer you'll report to the Coordinator Tourism & Events and play a key role in delivering Council's exciting annual Events Program. Working closely with the Senior Events Officer, you'll assist with event logistics, administration, and on-the-ground support to ensure each event runs smoothly and successfully. Your role will involve coordinating Council-led events, providing support to external event organisers, and ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.

What you need to succeed (Essential Criteria):
1. Minimum 2+ years of experience in event coordination or similar roles, with hands-on involvement in logistics and venue bookings.
2. Strong organisational skills – able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office and event management systems – handling bookings, invoicing, and document management.
4. Excellent communication skills – able to collaborate effectively with teams and respond to community and stakeholder inquiries.
5. Knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) responsibilities in event management, or willingness to learn.
6. Ability to maintain accurate records and deliver exceptional customer service in fast-paced environments.
7. Flexible availability – willing to support events outside regular hours, including weekends and public holidays.
8. Practical experience in supporting indoor and outdoor events – including setup/pack-down and troubleshooting event infrastructure and AV systems.
9. Hold a Current C Class Drivers Licence
10. Hold a Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification (RSA)
11. Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical prior to commencement
