A Social Visits Volunteer who can make a meaningful difference - One visit at a time

Are you someone who enjoys a good chat or spending quality time with someone over coffee and cake? We’re looking for a kind-hearted volunteer to visit a thoughtful elderly lady who’s feeling a bit lonely and would like a friendly volunteer to visit her. Your time and company could make a world of difference. A friendly visit, a shared story, or a chat over a cuppa could truly lift her spirits.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

Commitment

Regular - more than 6 months

Training

Training is provided as well as ongoing support by a local Volunteer Coordinator. We offer an extensive online and face-to-face training program so you will be well equipped as a volunteer. Optional - First Aid course

Time required

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Sunday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.

Requirements

- National Police Certificate

18 years or older • National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare •
