Video Producer

Department: Marketing

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Sydney

Reporting To: Kristine Plemmons

Description

Propeller is on a mission to take the guesswork out of moving dirt - reducing wasted fuel, time, and money. We do this through the power of maps.

Our customers use Propeller’s integrated hardware and software products to capture accurate 3D versions of their worksites. With over 50,000 worksites worldwide using Propeller’s smart survey technology, we empower project teams to map, measure, and manage site activity.

Propeller empowers everyone to approach, own, and solve problems creatively. We’re data nerds who care about impact, honesty, and each other. We take pride in being a great place to work. We are proud to be recipients of BI Group's Excellence in Customer Experience award and Inspiring Workplaces of Australasia, being recognized as Fast Company and BuiltIn Best Place to Work. You can learn more about us on Glassdoor.

Your Mission

The Video Producer owns the execution of Propeller’s video production pipeline—turning creative ideas into organised, well-managed projects that deliver results. You’ll lead the internal project management of every shoot, using Asana to track progress, coordinate stakeholders, manage timelines, and ensure smooth handoffs from concept to final delivery.

This role is equal parts producer and project manager—responsible for bringing clarity, structure, and momentum to our video content engine. You’ll work cross functionally to make sure every video aligns with our message, meets deadlines, and drives measurable brand and revenue impact.

What you’ll do:

- Lead internal project management for all video projects—owning planning, task creation, dependencies, and progress tracking through Asana.
- Manage the full video production lifecycle from scheduling and budgeting to final delivery and publishing.
- Coordinate logistics for shoots including location, talent, sound, lighting, and equipment needs.
- Collaborate with creative leads and marketing stakeholders to scope deliverables, set timelines, and ensure alignment across teams.
- Maintain a clear overview of all projects—what’s being shot, edited, approved, and released—using Asana as the single source of truth.
- Ensure that projects stay on time and within scope, proactively identifying risks and roadblocks.
- Build and maintain repeatable workflows for production and review processes to improve efficiency and visibility.
- Source or secure user-generated or customer-provided footage, managing rights and permissions.
- Support cross-functional communication by providing regular project updates, status reports, and milestone reviews.
- Identify opportunities to repurpose and iterate on existing video content for different channels and formats.

Your Skills

- Strong understanding of storytelling and visual communication principles, with the ability to translate creative direction into clear, actionable production plans.
- Proven experience as a Video Producer, Project Manager, or Content Producer
- Strong project management skills—experienced in leading multiple concurrent projects and driving accountability across teams.
- Hands-on experience with Asana (or similar tools like Monday.com, Wrike, or Trello), and a passion for keeping teams aligned through process visibility.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, both internally and externally.
- Knowledge of video production logistics—lighting, sound, camera work, and on-set coordination.

Benefits

- Employee share options
- Professional development budget and leave
- The opportunity to take part in our mentorship program
- Mental health resources
- Monthly telephone and/or internet allowance
Paid primary & secondary parental leave policies
- Hybrid work arrangements and WFH equipment provided
